About the Children’s Department
The Children’s Department houses books, magazines, videos, learning kits, and more for babies, toddlers, and elementary school children. Family Fun Story Time for babies to school age children is held on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-9:50 followed by 10:00 and 10:30 times available for scheduled groups. Story Time activities include songs, stories, and crafts and helps introduce little ones to small groups. School-aged children from PreK-5th grades have their own program, Book Connection, held on Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30pm. Month-long sessions are developed around a theme. The afternoon begins with a snack and a story, and ends with a take-home craft related to the current theme. All programs are free. Children 7 and younger must have a parent stay with them, however, we encourage a parent of older children to remain on site. Printable flyers are available when programs are offered. Come check it out!

Children’s Fall Programs
Book Connection begins again on September 9, 2010. We’ll travel in time to Ancient Greece to learn about Medusa, Pandora, and others. In October we’ll compare UFO sightings in the library as kids design their own spacecraft and aliens. We’ll wrap up in November with a trip down under to Australia. Find out what a didgeridoo is and how Lamingtons taste. Print a flyer here. Book Connection is a free, after-school hour for children in grades K-5. Programs take place on Thursday from 3:30-4:30pm during the school year and include stories, crafts, and snacks. Pre-register your child to guarantee that enough materials will be available. Call Penny at 262-2409 for more information or to register.
Story Time has a new offering this fall. In addition to our Wednesday morning sessions, parents can now choose a Tuesday at 2 story time session. Print a schedule here or print from here to learn about Tuesdays at 2 and volunteering.
