Summer Fun for the Family
School is almost out for the summer and soon everyone will be looking for fun things to do. The library staff is working hard to plan summer reading programs that all ages will enjoy.
‘One World, Many Stories’ is the theme for the children’s program in June. We’ll have stories, crafts, contests, prizes, guests, movies, and more.
Teens and adults won’t be forgotten as we have special activities planned for July. ‘Novel Destinations’ will be presented with reading contests, movies, and programs on Saturday afternoons.
A special event for children and families will be Musical Stories. OKC Philharmonic double bassist, John Schimek has composed music to accompany the reading-aloud of selected books for children. Starting as a partnership with the Children’s Center of Bethany to expose medically fragile patients ages birth to 18 years to new musical experiences, the program has expanded to include performances at area libraries.
